I'm back from my mini mission trip! =) it was a pretty good experience, thou quite tiring cuz there was quite alot of travel involved on not so good roads.. We took the ferry from S'pore to Batam, & then taxied to Batam airport to take an internal flight to Pekan Baru. In Pekan Baru, we travelled another 2 hrs+ by car to Libo. There we rested 1 night before heading off to Libo Camp (an army camp) where we were gonna do our dental/medical treatment. The first place we held this was at a Bible Presbytarian church planted by its S'pore family church. We joined in the morning service, den did relief work for abt 2hrs before heading to our 2nd location, a kindergarden. 3rd day in indo, we did clinics for 1-2 hrs in the morn before leaving for Spore. hmm all in all, i felt a tad sad when i saw how these patients came in with so many similar illnesses.. many of them malnourished, thin, & alot with lung related illnesses (cough, fever etc.). Mainly we tried to treat them as best as we could with limited medication that we brought, & dispensed alot of multivitamins. On the dental side we did alot of extractions & fillings.. understandably, they don't know proper dental hygiene, alot of them don't know how to use a toothbrush. so we taught them the proper way using a toy tiger puppet that had teeth in them! =D

but the children were great fun to play with.. hehe.. v cute most of them.. erm occassionally u get those that just cry when they see strangers.. which well, are not so cute la.. =p
